The capital: three venues, most of the hotels and the heart of the celebrations

Dakar hosts three competition venues and two free Fan Zones. It's also where you'll find the widest choice of accommodation, restaurants and transport.

Venues in Dakar

  • Complexe Tour de l'Œuf: 3x3 basketball, Baseball5, breaking, skateboarding, swimming. Free Fan Zone, booking required.
  • Iba Mar Diop Stadium: athletics, boxing, futsal (1–5 November), rugby sevens. Free Fan Zone, booking required.
  • Corniche Ouest: engagement sports and the start/finish of road cycling, free access.

Getting around: the BRT costs 400 FCFA (one zone) or 500 FCFA (all zones). Ride-hailing apps (Yango, Heetch) show the price before the trip; a regular taxi is negotiated before you get in.
